Canada - Louisbourg Fortress
The Fortress of Louisbourg is a national historic site of Canada. From 1713 to 1768 the fortified port was a place of profound significance in the French/British struggle for empire. Amazing history! The town that was left to see was only less than a quarter of the original town - the rest of it is under the ocean as the water rose over it!
